After many
good results at the CSI4* Jumping International Mons in Belgium, Kathi ended the show as
best lady rider. All horses jumped very well throughout the weekend,
and Kathi brought home some good results. On Thursday, Air Chin Z was the best
jumping a clear round to finish 10th in the 1.50 Grand Prix
qualifier. Air Chin continued to impress on Friday, and was once again double
clear in the second 1.50 Grand Prix qualifier – this time finishing 7th.
In the Grand Prix Kathi choose to retire Air Chin, as she felt that the
communication and rideability was not as good as in the two previous classes – also taking into consideration Air Chin's inexperience at Grand Prix level.
Pin Up Ouistreham was also on great form at her first show with Kathi, and jumped
clear in all her three classes. On Saturday, Kathi and Pin Up jumped a fantastic
clear round in the 1.50 class – and it was fast enough for third place. On
Sunday the two were placed again in the 1.50 class, this time 12th as
Kathi choose to let Pin Up breathe a little after such a quick round the day
before. Kathi really loves this mare, who is so fast against the clock.
Air Chin’s
daughter Con Air Z jumped the youngster classes, with just one rail down in
each of her two rounds – showing some real promise. Despite only two weeks with
Kathi, the two have already found the tone and Kathi is very excited about this
six year old mare.
Gain Line’s jumping progressed during the weekend, and in his two last classes he had a rail down in each. Kathi was happy with his jumping, but the two need to get to know each other better at this point and there are still some adjustements that need to be made.
