Umeunig in the ribbons in Monaco

June 27, 2016, 4:53 p.m. – back to all news

Umeunig jumped the first Longines Global Champions Tour of his career this past weekend, making his debut in the tiny sand ring harbor-side in Monaco.

He opened very well indeed, jumping a double clear round in the 1.50/1.55 Prix Massimo Dutti on Friday to take 6th place.

In the Grand Prix, Umeunig again jumped fantastic in the beginning of the course but half-way lost his focus and Kathi decided to retire him.

Qitana VDV also did a very good job at her first ever five-star show. One pole down in Friday's 1.45 and two rails down in her biggest class to date in Saturday's 1.45/1.50 competition was the result, but with a bit more experience Kathi thinks this 9-year-old mare could be something for the future.

The next stop for Kathi will be the LGCT in Paris this coming weekend.
